Using the example of the British electricity distribution sector, this paper illustrates the complexities and challenges of the periodic regulatory review process. Also identified are some of the strategies that distribution network companies must develop in order to achieve a successful review outcome. We have corresponding reductions in the revenue for these distribution companies.
