This year’s study focuses on the final driver: collaboration. This term is perhaps the most overused one in supply chain management. Overused in the sense that very little “true” collaboration is currently going on.
Much of this lack of progress can be attributed to the inability of firms to
share real-time key data and information with strategic customers, suppliers and
supply chain partners. The “ideal” state of having seamless, real-time information
available at all times is the definition of visibility. Visibility is one of the
core elements for successful collaboration.
