Councils Online: Improving how Councils Interact with their Constituents

The vision of a new business solution for local government operations turns to reality

The Situation

Five Australian councils from New South Wales formed a syndicate to procure new IT solutions to support the transformation of their businesses.

The aim of the project was for the syndicate of councils to incorporate Capgemini’s leading edge IT solution, while sharing the overall cost between them.

The Solution

The councils recognised value in collaborating to attain the best. They agreed to share costs to procure, implement and operate the new system.

The Result

Councils Online is the result of a partnership between the councils and many suppliers, with Capgemini as prime contractor.

Features include redesigned processes across a spectrum of council functions, automated workflow and an approach to adopt business and system changes via a shared and highly adaptable technology platform.
