Revenue Assurance

You are in: Industries We Serve

Using our benefit sharing partnership approach, we can help to secure an operator’s ROI by securing maximum revenues, both in the short and the long term.

The Challenge

Today operators of all types worldwide are losing tens of millions of euros in unbilled revenues. For example, how many customers billing profiles exactly match that of the network? Imagine the number of calls unbilled because the billing system did not recognise that a customer was not allowed to make international calls, but the network allowed them to do so.

If an operator fails to bill just one call per month worth €0.06 for each of its six million customer base, for example, it loses a staggering €4.3 million per year. One operator in discussions with Capgemini estimated that it was only billing customers for 28.3% of all corporate orders for its services. An average of industry estimates indicated that losses due to revenue leakages amount to the equivalent of 3% to 8% of total revenues, and sometimes reach as high as 15%.

We believe operators must reconcile all disparities between service and revenues and, perhaps most significantly, support the introduction of today’s highly complex and sophisticated multimedia services.

Our Solution

Capgemini’s approach to resolving these issues for an operator and ensuring integrated, effective revenue assurance for the future, is to deploy a blend of reactive and proactive assurance activities:  to fix the past and secure the future.

Our reactive strategy involves hunting for leaks:

  • Identifying where and how revenue leaks are occurring and deciding whether to implement billing procedures for them.
  • Matching up all elements of the operator’s business to discover errors and reveal, for example, whether all customers are invoiced for all services, for the correct services and at the appropriate prices.

Our proactive strategy involves securing the future through implementing a fully integrated revenue assurance program.  With this strong foundation, the service provider can move forward to introduce advanced new services, such as 3G, confident that its revenue assurance systems and processes are sufficiently accurate, comprehensive, and robust.
